What is to engage the word?
1. To do the word
2. To act upon the word (Jam 1:22-25)
3. To apply the word
To practice the word
4. To behave the word
5. To actualise the word (1 Sam 2:3
6. To imitate the word
7. To labour in the word
Jam 1:22-25, Gal 6:7-9
• Doing the word is sowing seed.
Whenever you are sowing seed, you are also expecting harvest.
• The word of God is the seed that will bring you harvest.
What kind of a word do you need to engage?
1. The word you have understood.
• Understanding paves the way for the word to work.
• The word of God works at the point of your understanding. (Ps 119:130)
• At the point of your understanding, faith becomes automatic and with faith all things are possible.
• Understanding helps you to apply what God is speaking to you in order to have your desired results.
2. A revealed word (Jn 6:63, Mat 4:10-11, Jb 32:8)
• A revealed word is a word that proceeds from the mouth of God, inspired by the spirit.
• You should discern the revealed word.
• You should be conscious of the revealed word.
3. The word in season (Zec 10:1, Lk 5:4-6)
• You have to engage the word of the season.
4. The commanded word (1 Cor 10:1-4)
• Engage the word which has become law.
• Take scriptural references and use scriptures to challenge God.
• Bring out scriptural reasons.
There is always a word of the house / a word of your covering.
5. The demanded word (Est 4:14-16, Dan 2:15-19
• Every urgent situation requires urgent approach.
• Every emergency requires a quick response.
• When the situation gets worse, don’t waste time, answer or respond speedily.
• To have an answer to any emergency situation, you have to take a risk.
• The comfort zone brings destruction.
6. The word that proceeds from the lips of your prophet (Hos 12:13, 1 Sam 12:6, Am 3:7, Ps 105:26, 103:7, Is 44:26)
• God reveals the secrets to the prophets for your preservation.
• The sent ones are sent to bring God’s people out of Egypt.
• Real authority lies in your obedience to the word of God (Mat 8:9)
• Lack of engagement to the word of God is the absence of testimonies.
• Changes come when you apply the force of the word.
• Whenever situations become tough, engage the word.
• Any soldier that has a weapon but does not use the weapon will not have victory of the enemies.
• When the situation you’re in demands a fight, just fight.
• We use the word of God to fight the battles of life.
• God gives us victory using the word.
Mat 4:3-10
• Every word doer is a carrier of testimonies.
• Every word doer is a carrier of God’s presence because God’s attracted to His word.
