DEFEATING YOUR GOLIATH
Deut 8:1-2
• It’s not possible to worship or praise God without capturing some moment of His kindness or goodness (in your mind), without a revelation of what He has done for you before.
• The devil’s fight is to cut us off from such memories so that when we come to God we are so shallow.
• Our problems come when we forget where He took us from, what we have been through and how He has helped us.
• Your next victory in Christ depends on the previous things God has done, if they can jump start your faith.
• What Jesus has done before has strength to generate another testimony if it can be used properly.
• Those who forget that God helped them to handle the bear and the lion cannot kill goliath.
• Your present enemy may appear too big if you can’t remember what God has done for you.
Mat 14:30, 1 Sam 17:36
• The enemy makes sure we don’t remember all the good things God has done for us.
• Some people remember the good times they had in the past in order to cry about where they are today while others use memories of the good times they had in the past to have faith that those times can come back.
• You can choose to minimize pain while maximizing pleasure in your mind.
• Be careful with goliath, he is a distraction.
• If you look at Goliath wrongly, you might think he is there for your downfall.
• There is something greater standing behind that goliath.
• Goliath looks like a problem but It’s your announcement to your next level.
• Nobody knew David before He killed Goliath (1 Kings 17:55-56).
• What will you do about your Goliath?
• Those who kill Goliath remember the bear and the lion.
• The reason why many people only experience one breakthrough and never experience other breakthroughs is that they like forgetting.
• The reason why you’ve heard about a certain problem could be that God has ordained you to solve that problem.
Mal 3:16
• Satan can’t remind you of the testimonies God has done for you.
Num 14:27-30, 13:33
• Choose to maximise things that are going to help your destiny.
• If watching the news brings you fear, watch things that encourage you and build your faith.
• You have personal choices to make.
• Don’t focus on wrong things.
Num 13:27-30, 14:9
• We interpret what we see and hear from what we are thinking.
Job 22:29, 1 John 4:4
• Speak reality.
• Reality is truth.
• What is truth? anything that God says. Anything else is a lie.
• Don’t be intimidated.
• Be emboldened when you remember the things God has done.
• Goliath cursed David by his gods even when he saw that David was just a boy (1 Sam 17:44).
• Many christians move God aside when they face something that looks like they can handle alone.
• Think it, say it.
Isa 49:13, 1 Sam 17:45, Heb 11:1
• What you say matters (Gen 11:6-8).
• You can’t speak the same language if you don’t hear and believe the same things.
