Prayer is communication between man and God arising from a healthy relationship.

The only prayer that exists between God and a non-believer is the prayer of salvation.

There is more to prayer than just asking and receiving. Just like how in the natural, you don’t have friends only so you can ask for things from them , there has to be more to your friendship.

Why is prayer necessary?

1.It links man with God’s presence (Exodus 33:15)

   It helps you to connect to God’s presence, establishing contact between you and God.

   The presence of God is cultivated, in a similar manner to how you cultivate your field. Prayer is what cultivates God’s presence in your life.

   There is a supernatural enhancement in all that you do when God’s presence is with you.

2. It generates power (Acts 1:8,14 Luke 24:49)

3. It changes a man’s identity (Genesis 32:28, 1 Kings 18:17, 1 Chronicles 4:10)

4.It fuels vision or purpose (Habakkuk 2:1-2, Jeremiah 33:3, 1:5)

5.It brings wisdom (1 Kings 3:5-9)

   Have a notebook near you as you pray, when you are truly focused as you pray, your thoughts will be saturated with God’s thoughts (God’s wisdom)

6.It cleanses man (Matthew 26:41)

   Prayer will keep a man from sin while sin will keep you from praying.

   It is easy to avoid sin when you are prayerful.

7.Guarantees divine  protection and preservation (Ezra 8:21-23,31, Daniel 6:10,20-22, Psalm 91:1,14)

8.Facilities divine guidance (Jeremiah 33:3, Psalm 37:23)

   When your life is surrendered at the altar of prayer, your steps will be ordered by the Lord.

   The blessing you are enjoying is not secure until you secure it in prayer.
