UNDERSTANDING THE GREAT COMMISSION
Mat 28:18-20, John 3:16
• The name of the father , the son and Holy Ghost is the name Jesus.
• The name Jesus was given all authority (Phili 2:5-11).
• There is no other name that has been given through which all things must submit.
• You can take the name of Jesus to any corner of the world and it will deliver.
• God’s ultimate interest here on earth is the salvation of men’s souls.
• As a child of God, if you don’t understand God’s interest, you will be frustrated unnecessarily.
• We are redeemed as co-labourers of Christ in reaping the harvest.
John 15:6, 2 Cor 5 :17-18, Luke 14:23
• Your duty is to win souls and establish in the faith.
• How is your life enhancing the agenda of God while you’re here?
• Every child of God has been called to ministry (you have a ministry).
• It is not only pastors who are called to ministry.
• Every believer has been called to the ministry of reconciliation: reconciling lost souls back to God.
• An angel won’t tell your neighbor about Jesus.
• Some people don’t have time for you to witness to them, you can however invite them to come to the feast (church) where God will meet them.
• Because of the ministry of reconciliation we have, we are ambassadors.
• Being God’s ambassadors connotes that we are noble and are in honour and glory, but only if we are doing the work.
• An ambassador who is not representing the interests of his country will be recalled.
• You have been saying that you’re an ambassador for Christ but Christ’s resources are not seen around your life. This is because you’re not representing Christ’s interests on earth.
• The Israeli ambassador to Zambia enjoys Israel’s resources in Zambia.
1 Cor 3:9-10, 2 Pet 3:9, 1 Tim 2:4
• To see all men saved is God’s will.
• God is tired of dealing with baby christians who only come to church to seek breakthroughs for their own interests.
• The whole world is our harvest field.
• If you don’t want to serve God, what are you going to say to Him when you are challenged?
• Heaven has a record.
• If you build a church, according to scripture, all the souls that get saved from that church are credited to your account.
• God is looking for more labourers to join the harvest field.
• There are many members but very few labourers.
• There are many members but very few deacons.
• There are many members but very few pastors.
• Are you a labourer or a bench-warmer?
• Are you a labourer or God’s labour?
We must secure this harvest and get new converts to church for:
1. Sanctification (John 15:15, 17:17)
2. So that they can access their inheritance
3. For the allocation of their blessing (Ps 132:13-17, 63:17
• We must understand that engagement of soul-winning is a business that is open to all believers that are interested (Mat 20:20-23, 6:63)
• See it as a business, take it as a business and engage it as a business.
• Soul-winning is a hidden treasure (Mat 13:44)
SOME BENEFITS OF SOUL-WINNING
• Every soul has money in the mouth (Mat 17:27)
1. Giants rise on the platform of soul-winning (Dan 12:3)
2. Soul-winning is an investment into the future (Mal 3:17-18)
3. Soul-winning gets us on God’s payroll and that guarantees supernatural supplies ( John 4:35-36)
4. Soul-winning makes an ambassador out of a believer.
5. There is favour in soul-winning (Ps 102:13-15)
6. Quick answers to prayers (John 14:21)
HOW CAN WE GET INVOLVED IN SOUL WINNING?
1. At the altar of prayer
• Pray for souls to open their hearts to invitations, break the hold of sin over their lives, as well as pray that once they are saved they become established in a church.
• Pray that the word of God should convict people as pastor is preaching.
• Pray that the blessing will manifest in the lives of believer
2. Witnessing (preaching) to the lost
3. Inviting people to come to church (Luke 14:17-23)
4. Printing materials to send across
5. Follow-ups (Acts 15:36)
• Coming to church once is not enough, follow-up those people you invited to church until they can stand for themselves.
6. By building places of worship (Luke 7:1-5)
• Each one of us can get involved in building churches.
• In the kingdom of God, everyone can invest according to their ability.
7. Giving towards crusades and church-planting efforts
8. Assisting the needy
SACRIFICE
• There is power that is given and there is power that is acquired.
• In sacrifice, there is losing and there is dying; meaning that thing is so precious that when it moves away from you, it will leave a gap.
• The power Jesus talked about in Mat 28:18 is translated as exousia in Greek .
• Not every evil force can be driven out by an anointing.
• Anointing is limited.
• Jesus was anointed while He was on the earth but there were certain things He couldn’t achieve.
• When Jesus made the greatest sacrifice of giving up His own life, all power was given to Him.
• The greatest benefit of sacrifice is authority.
Gen 22:1-17
• Authority is the power of choice that makes men to dominate.
• Believers will be dying prematurely if they don’t understand sacrifice.
• Powers that run territories are ranked higher than demons you can cast out.
• You can’t cast out principalities with the anointing.
Christians are selfish, they only live for themselves.
2 Sam 24:24
• People who have spiritual intelligence turn to sacrifice when they are in a tight spot.
• Some afflictions will not go away because of the instruction from God you are ignoring. A man of God can lay hands on you several times but it will change nothing.
• Some realms and dimensions can only be accessed by sacrifice.
• Sacrifice is not what you think or imagine, it is the spirit you are sacrificing to that must tell you what to sacrifice (Gen 22:2).
• There is a voice you’ve been ignoring or are yet to hear.
Hag 1:5, 8
• Tithe and offerings are not sacrifices.
